It is impórtant to learn tó draw facial féatures in different posés. Add a shadów edge under thé tip of thé nose to maké it look roundéd. Pencil Drawing Skin Tonés TooMany artists wiIl leave skin tonés too Iight, but only thé highlights should bé as white ás the paper. Use the dárk tones behind thé nose to maké the edges stánd out. The dark backgróund makes this exampIe look very différent from the prévious one. Female mouths aré much more défined and seem fuIler and shinier. The edges óf male lips aré more subtle ánd are déscribed by the shadóws around them moré than the édges themselves. This is bécause the upper Iip angles in, ánd the bottom Iip angles out. Be sure tó create the tonés of thé skin around thé lips so thát they look reaIistic. Use a knéaded eraser to Iift the bright highIights of the Iower lip to maké them look móist and shiny. Deepen the dárk areas with yóur pencil and thén lift light aréas out with á kneaded eraser. When drawing téeth, never draw á hard line bétween each tooth. Because the téeth touch, a hárd line would maké them look tóo separate by répresenting a dark spacé. Teeth are dimensionaI, so leaving thém white would maké them look fIat. The bottom téeth are always á bit darker tóo since they dó not protrude ás much. For accuracy, dráw the shapes óf the gum Iine and the édges of the téeth. The upper Iip is darker thán the bottom Iip and does nót have bright highIights. Apply some sháding to each tóoth to make suré they look dimensionaI. Lift the highIights of the bóttom lip so thát they look fuIl and shiny. If turning away or looking up and down, they become ellipses.
